This was an awesome book!! We saw more into the connection between Mercy and Adam. Love them as a couple!! Also found out more about Sam's past! Fantastic story, well written and a great pace.

I generally like this series but I definitely prefer the Alpha and Omega one. But this book is a very nice addition to the series and I enjoyed it probably a little more than some other books in this series.
Mercy tries to find her place in a pack, which is not easy at all. Especially that someone is trying to use the pack's bond to make her quarrel with Adam. The situation is further complicated by Samuel who is trying to commit suicide. And in addition, someone is looking for a book that Mercy ...more

#5 in the Mercy Thompson series
What a great series! I'd rate this 4.5 stars, if I could. I really like the Mercy character. She's kind and level-headed, but she's also strong and stubborn. There were three main stories in this episode, although they were all connected, with Mercy as the common denominator, of course. The pack is still uncomfortable with the fact that Mercy and Adam are mated, so there's some unrest and some downright sabotage. So in a challenge against Adam as alpha, there's a b ...more

4-4.5 stars. The only reason this book didn't get a 5 star rating was because of the fae storyline. I find I'm not as intrigued or interested by the fae as I am with the vampire's stories or the werewolves/shifter stories. So if it weren't for the fae being the focus this would have easily been a 5 star because I loved everything else.
Loved Adam/Mercy and all the drama and issues that is going on because of Mercy being let into the pack.

It was nice to have the book set at home after the departure with the last one. Mercy is working on getting Adam's pack to accept her when she gets mixed up with the fae again.
What I enjoyed:
* Mercy and Adam's relationship growth
* Samuel (view spoiler)
* Getting more insight into Adam's pack
* Learning more about the fae
What could have been better:
* More closure. I wanted (view spoiler) ...more
