So much going on but Mercy is still a kicka$$ character that I couldn't stop until it ended.

Update: this is a re-read for a group BR

I still enjoy Mercy but she really has her hands full. I understand that she has her own special ways but does she always have to a good person and have to help everyone. I'm all for helping friends and all but when your the one who always comes out with the aches, pains and bruises doesn't that make you think twice about helping others on your own and find someone

Synopsis- Under the rule of science, there are no witch burnings allowed, no water trials or public lynchings. In return, the average law-abiding, solid citizen has little to worry about from the things that go bump in the night. Sometimes I wish I was an average citizen...

Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver

I really wanted to love this book. Don't get me wrong I really like Mercy as a main character. I don't know why I was bored with this book. Maybe it was the story line. I really enjoyed the story in the first book . Wish I could pinpoint my disappointment. I found myself having to really focus while reading. My mind kept wandering, hence it took me longer to read. I am not going to give up on the series, but I think I will wait awhile to read book 3. ...more

Mercy Thompson, coyote shifter and 'walker', is contacted by Stefan, vampire, to fulfill a favor owed. He needs to confront a visiting vampire and he wants Mercy to come as his pet coyote to observe and remember what transpires. He suspects the other vampire of falsifying memories. The scene is bad and they find the vampire is possessed by a demon. He is on a killing spree and needs to be stopped. Soon the werewolves have joined the hunt. But the demon vampire has ways of controlling each parano ...more

This one was as awesome as the first one was. Mercy Thompson is definitely turning into a favorite heroine of mine. And after that ending, I'm very very glad I don't have to wait years for the next book to come out... ...more

I'm enjoying the Mercy Thompson books. Dealing with the vampires is definitely creepy and this new bad guy steps it up a notch. I liked the glimpse into Stefan's home life, though I'm not surprised it's more "civilized" than the rest of the Seethe. I'm hoping this Love-triangle (or more?) clears up quickly because I want more Adam romance! ...more

Good but Mercy bugs me, she has at least three strong men with good jobs after her and she does not appreciate any of them. Love the paranormal elements of this story.

I'm not a fan of shapeshifters. Maybe too much romance? I'll read the third book and see if I'll keep on with it or not.
