4 stars. Even better than book one. I’m glad that I’ve finally continued on with this series because I just adore Patricia Briggs’s writing. Her world building, her characters, the way she does relationships and the dynamics between the characters are just so incredibly well done. Her characters feel so real and authentic despite the fact that this is a paranormal with shifters. They have depth to them.

I am starting to understand what everyone is raving about with this series. After i finished book one, while I enjoyed it. I wasn't hard pressed to pick up this, book 2, anytime soon. As a result it's been nearly a year I think since I read book 1. When I finished this book this afternoon however, the first thing i wanted to do was go get my copy of book 3 and start reading. Not because there any major cliff hanger to find out the outcome of but just because i had become so immersed in the story
