I loved this. I've been meaning to read this series forever and I'm so happy I finally started it. Mercy is a great heroine, I'm hoping she finds out more about herself and what she can do in the next books. Adam, Jesse, Samuel, and Bran are great characters that I hope we see more of (and I'm sure we will). I want to know more about Stefan, too. This was a good supernatural fictional story. It reminded me of the True Blood series but not quite as engaging. One problem was that so many characters were featured in this book that it felt like I was reading a book mid series instead of an introductory book that generally just features the two protagonists and a small cadre of engaging support characters.
