I finished it I don't know if I really liked it. It is more of a 2.5stars for me. I didn't like either of the main characters. I did however like the sisters.

This is the prelude to Immortals After Dark and I still can't drum up caring and is the story of Myst & Wroth. Their species are mortal enemies but they manage to fall in love. The elements are there for your standard couple meet, through conflict and obstacles they find they are in love, happy ever after or not.

I'm a huge fan of Cole's Arcana series, so I was really excited about diving into this. It even started out great - Myst and Wroth were interesting, had chemistry - and then, I got to the point where he manages to get her chain. Skeevy and not cool at all. Consent is important, and it makes me so frakking angry that it's generally female authors who seem to gloss over it with 'oh, by the end of the novel she's in love with him'. 4-4.5 stars. I really liked this one. It wasn't a favorite of the series but it was still very enjoyable. After reading all the little moments between Nikolai and Myst in all the other books I really wanted to read this one. And even though much of what is in this story has been mentioned in later books in the IAD series it's still a good idea to read this one. My only complaint, I wish these two got a full length novel. Other than that, this was a great read.
