Re-read in audio in October 2020 - narrated by Robert Petkoff
Yes, I just upped the rating and all because of Mr. Petkoff. Why is it that when he narrates these books, all the shenanigans that the MCs do seem perfectly normal? This time around, I wasn't as bothered by what I mentioned in the last re-read. I just took it in stride! Petkoff just gets the extreme campiness of the stories and still give it his all! I miss you narrating these books! What's wrong with Kresley Cole that she hasn't relea

Nikolai Wroth & Myst the Coveted

Reread 11/08/23
So, depending on where you look this is either book 1 (amazon) or book .05 (goodreads) in the series.

In my previous review I said it felt more like a prequel, especially since I read it after reading A Hunger Like No Other. Now it feels like it could be either, since it's been so long since I read AHLNO, that I don't recall the details.

Myst betrays Nikolai and leaves him desperate for release...for five years! Ouch. When he gets the chance to enslave her (kinda like a djinn), he takes full advantage. Though it's not as bad as you'd imagine since she is his soul mate and he isn't interested in harming her. A surprisingly romantic story given the hero is a medieval warlord and the heroine a fierce valkyre. ...more

Reread August 2019
I love this series! So it was no hardship to pick up this book again and re-immerse myself in the Immortals After Dark world. There is so much going on, but the story is still strong and focused. I'm looking forward to fully rereading this series as I await the next installment.
