Intrigue is the order of the day as the baddest of the bad boy Mackenzie's, Cameron, gets reacquainted with the resourceful Ainsley Douglas while she leads him on a merry chase.

I liked this quickly moving outing which had a backdrop of the horse-racing world and had a bit of royal intrigue. The Queen has Ainsley at her beck and call and avails herself of Ainsley's ability to move within the Ton. This is a great addition to the series. I love this series and I definitely wasn't disappointed with this book.

Ainsley has met Cameron six years ago when she was stealing a necklace one of his mistresses. They kissed but nothing happened because she couldn't betrayed her husband. Still, they couldn't forget about each other. Now, Cameron once again finds Ainsley in his bedchamber, this time she is a noble widow. And neither of them deny the desire between them.

Best in series (so far); 4.5*
Playful, delightful, strong characters (I've enjoyed the whole family), with the added bonus of fatherhood. I always seem to enjoy stories that include children in adult fiction...and this one touched me because I recognized a closeness between father & son that I also share. And I've not read another story that showed this unusual relationship (less common?) before.
Only complaint...the cover. While handsome, it simply doesn't fit the description. That model is not " ...more

This series keeps getting better and better! I loved Cam!! Cameron MacKenzie has scars - both physical and psychological - from his former wife. Ainsley has long been intrigued by Cam, but knows he's a womanizer who discards his conquests when he's done and she's determined not to be another one. Until she gets to know Cam! There was a lot going on in this story, along with catching up with the other MacKenzies and their wives, and I didn't know what to expect. Great story and can't wait to read ...more
