Kate has a lot going on. Between running her own business since she left the Order to be with yummy Curran, dealing with a vampire, magic being out of whack and with stuff she has on her mind, which I totally understand, since all the new information that she has learned about her mother and the man she considered a father. 4 stars. This started off super slow and I was getting a little worried, not even gonna lie because it takes a long while for this book to get going but it definitely picks up and gets really good.

Can't rave enough about this series. I love it!
Kate is now working for herself and it's not going so well, until a client shows up needing her to find a missing man and his invention, which turns out to be the destruction of everything and everyone of magic. This book reminded me of why I love the Kate Daniels series. My one and only complaint was that some of the end battle was written in a confusing way and it took me a bit to realize whose side new presences were on. Still, it worked for me anyway. I love these books and am looking forward to the next one!
