4 stars. This started off super slow and I was getting a little worried, not even gonna lie because it takes a long while for this book to get going but it definitely picks up and gets really good.

Another highly entertaining book in the Kate Daniels series - I really like these characters and the action/plot/dialogue is very well paced.

Kate's life has undergone some major changes--she is now officially Curran's mate which limits her freedom to some extent and also requires extra duties, such as mediating disputes among the shapeshifters in one of the book's best scenes. She has begun her own agency and has taken on Andrea as her partner. And her ward, Julie, poses a challenge when she refuses to stay at her school.
