I'm starting to really love Kate's character:

-I like the teases we're getting about her powerful blood and who her kin is.
-I like that although it's clear that something is developing with Curran, she has better things to do (does she ever!) than mooning over a boy. She's not afraid to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done.
-I like that in such a short period of time of looking after Julie, she's thinking of her as "my kid" and keeping her safe with everything she's got.

The phone rang in the middle of the night.

Kate Daniels is a mercenary in magic torn Atlanta tasked to retrieve maps stolen from the Pack. The city is in the throes of a major magical flare that occurs every seven years. Kate becomes the guardian of a young girl, the seeker of a secret coven and next potential plaything for Curran, Lord of the Pack.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to read this book. It took me a bit to catch up with the storyline but once I did I loved it. Kate is mouthy, kickas

Not the best writing or storyline, which was a given after reading the first book, but I see some improvement. I like the cast of characters especially Curran, he is interesting.

I loved this installment.

Kate is really growing on me. She has all this power and (view spoiler) I love that the writers are building the romance between Curran and Kate slowly. They are just giving little hints that there might be more later but nothing that is completely in your face.

As with the previous book I lov

I definitely liked this book better than the first, darn close to 4 stars for me. Still not a huge fan of shifters and the whole pack mentality in general, but I really like Kate and her world. It's fascinating, I don't completely understand it and there's so much more to learn. Kate's a fantastic badass hero and I was a little frightened that she'd suddenly desperately want to be a mother, like every single woman in fiction, but we dodged that bullet and I'm looking forward to the next book ver ...more
