This is a most unusual but delightfully reading mystery. This was an enjoyable read. The mystery was complex enough to keep me guessing, and interesting enough to keep me reading to find out more.
My main issue with this novel was Flavia. She's more than a bit insufferable. She's an eleven-year-old chemist who clearly thinks very highly of her own intelligence. But as a narrator, she comes off as smug and annoying, not to mention unbelievable. I warmed to her a bit as the story progressed and she became a little more "normal," but as a character, she ...more
