This book is written from the perspective of Jean Louise (aka Scout) Finch; an 8 year old girl. It made an interesting read firstly on the 'normal' life they lead in Alabama and the second half, on tackling the issue of the "Negroes". I think it made it especially interesting reading from the view of a little girl on the issues of the world although she has one very wise father and a soon-to-be wise older brother. I started this book on 03/22/2009. I finished this book on 04/08/2009.
This book was just okay for me. It got really interesting when the trail of Tom Robinson was going on and toward the end it got interesting again. But other then that it was about following around a little girl and her brother. It is a very racial book so I understand how it was a big deal back when it came out. Overall it wasn't really bad but it wasn't my favorite. I'd probably give it a 2 and a half star if I could. ...more
