I went into reading this book not expecting to like it at all because I am not a big fan of poetry. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it reads more like a story then a series of poems. This book deals with the hard issue of incest and being raped from childhood. To many, the issue seems shocking, and certainly not something to put out there for children to read. Well, the "twist you won't see coming" was obvious to me by the time I was 20% in. Regardless, it was a good story and the poetry format was unique and interesting.
