I started Kiss of Midnight expected just another vampire story. Creatures of the night, sucking human blood, trying to fit in. One would be different and the girl would fall for him. However this book was a lot more like Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. Our vampires are actually warriors who fight to protect the humans, even when the humans don't know they need saved. I was lucky enough to get this one on the first read contest. I LOVED this one. It was so good! I could not put this one down. This one was about a women who witness a murder one night and no one seems to believe her. No one but Lucan Thorne. That thrust her into a world of vampires and a war. I love the couple. Also the writer really could write a wonderful steamy love scene. Really good one if you enjoy paranormal romance.
