I love this book. It gave me more details than the movie that was missing but still good.
Erin/Katie was living in an abusive marriage and decided to leave because no matter what she did Kevin always found her except for this one time he didn't find her as quickly and she found Alex and his family. They should her what it could be like to have a loving family that cared about her but Kevin is still an issue. ...more

Thought the book was quite good, very typical Nicholas Sparks but not one of his best stories. Possibly because the whole battered wife stuff is done to death in movies and in books. The movie did not do the book justice though because they always seem to change important parts somewhere in between. If you are a Sparks fan you will probably enjoy this installment.

So I've seen many movies based on Nicholas Sparks novels including Safe Haven. This was the first of his books I've had the chance to read. Let me tell you I thought his movies were romantic and heart breaking, this book blows that away. You connect so deeply with the characters, you visualize every scene incredibly. The author is amazing at making you connect, you feel happy, sad, miserable, angry, loving, nervous, panicked and so much more. Heck some of the more intense chapters had my heart r

The cover of this book, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The main character Katie, has short brown hair, Alex has pure gray hair from the time he was in his twenties. That is quiet a bit annoying.
Katie shows up in town and sets herself up. She is quiet and reserved. She comes into the grocery store Alex owns every week. She gets the same groceries and walks everywhere she goes. It isn't hard for Alex (an ex-military cop) to realize that she is on the run and hiding from something. Turns out h ...more
