Oh, wow! This is one of the best books by Mr. Sparks for sure. Not that I'm a fan. He's books are usually hit or miss for me but this one really hit me. I could not put it down.
I have seen the movie and was looking forward to a nice cozy read but the book was so much more intense and creepy that my heart was literally breaking for Katie, Alex and his family. In this case, I must say, the book was better than the movie, although I loved them both.

The cover of this book, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The main character Katie, has short brown hair, Alex has pure gray hair from the time he was in his twenties. That is quiet a bit annoying.
Katie shows up in town and sets herself up. She is quiet and reserved. She comes into the grocery store Alex owns every week. She gets the same groceries and walks everywhere she goes.
