Oh, wow! This is one of the best books by Mr. Sparks for sure. Not that I'm a fan. He's books are usually hit or miss for me but this one really hit me. I could not put it down.
I have seen the movie and was looking forward to a nice cozy read but the book was so much more intense and creepy that my heart was literally breaking for Katie, Alex and his family. In this case, I must say, the book was better than the movie, although I loved them both.
Nicholas Sparks sure writes crazy characters well

Soo, I was in the mood for something light and easy after slogging through Rushdie, and I figured this would be a safe bet. I'll be the first to admit it - this is one of the rare instances I liked the movie better. While the book was good, I was a lot more invested in the film. Normally not a fan. A tad mushy for my taste. But I'm trying to conjure up my inner optimist + I heard this was was a little darker than his usual =)

I would say th

I have read all of Nicholas Sparks books and I would be the first to say that some of them leave a bit to desire. But I really got into Safe Haven. The story is a new spin for Sparks- it is a bit darker with the romance taking a slower and quieter undertone.

I have been reading completely different generes of books for the last year and I found Safe Haven a nice break. I was sad when it ended and can't wait for his next to come out.

Listened to audio book. Pretty slow and predictable. Might have stopped reading if I had checked it out as a book. I didn’t really fall in the love with the characters. But it was a nice background when driving.

I didn't catch on to the ending very far in advance. It is one of my favorite books by this author. ...more
