This is the sequel to A Child Called “It” and covers from age 12 to 18; Dave Pelzer's years in foster care. Dave dedicates this book to the people who rescued him, his social worker, the foster families who took him in and the mentors who helped him along the way. Each home Dave is part of is at capacity and for a confused, emotionally dependent child he is often not getting what he needs. I am so glad Dave Pelzer wrote a follow-up to "A Child Called 'it'" as I wanted to know so much more about the path that Dave would travel on after getting removed from his mother's home. It is still heartbreaking to see that after saved from abuse his life was a continuation of struggle despite having temporary love from different foster parents. Great and important read. ...more
