The story was interesting as it was a showcase for the real life (and rare) practice of white slave owners going on vacation and taking their slave mistresses with them instead of their wives.
The story was interesting as it was a showcase for the real life (and rare) practice of white slave owners going on vacation and taking their slave mistresses with them instead of their wives.
This book was primarily set around where I live and even mentions a stop along the rails that still exists today near Loveland, Ohio just north of Cincinnati. To know that the area in which I live was probably a main part of the underground railroad and where the resort where white masters took their slave mistresses both fascinates and disgusts me.
