Wow, I have never read a book like this before. This story is heartbreaking but yet hauntingly beautiful. I have learned so much about the old time Chinese culture. This is about the friendship of Chinese women . It describes footbinding ugh, I've heard of this but wasn't sure how it happened. So incredibly painful. I had no idea about so many things here. Daughters were considered worthless and only good for producing sons. I was totally engrossed in this book and will definitely be reading mor
