A gorgeous, heart warming holiday story. I loved every page and even though I've seen the movie, I was gripped from page 1. The characters are lovely and engaging and you'll find yourself rooting for everyone's happiness! A Christmas story with fabulous characters and dogs! Does it get any better?

Parts of this book didn't sit well with me. The adopt-a-dog-just-for-Christmas idea would put a lot of stress on the dogs returned tithe shelter. The McCray family is about to get a special visitor this Christmas. No one member of the family expected the affect this visitor would have on them. George doesn't want another dog in his home, it brings up memories he doesn't want to think about. His son Todd is developmentally challenged and wants so badly to take in a dog for the Christmas holiday. George, against his better judgement, decides to let him. Little does he know what this gift to his son will give him in return.
