This is my second time reading this book and I haven't read any of the sequels, not yet anyway.
The first time through, I was a little confused about what was happening. The story jumps from character to character, and from city to city. I was thrown into this world where Gods intervene and use mortals for their own purposes. I thought it was a good story and then moved on to another book and never read the sequel.

A big book (700+ pages) to read
An immense new universe to explore
An extensive list of characters to befriend
Overall, kinda promising except that there was just too much of everything and yet not enough of explanation. I just had to keep on reading and hope that somewhere along the way some of the things make sense; for example who's a god and who's mortal but then there is also old / elder gods vs new gods?! And then, there are mythical creatures of which race were called something else in the n ...more
