Glad I didn't pay attention to the reviews comparing this to the Dresden Files series, since I seriously dislike those books. This, to me, was more on par with Mercy Thompson or Kate Daniels, both of which I'm a huge fan of.

I first got a copy of this book a couple of years ago. I think I won it in a competition and at the time it didn't seem like my kind of read so I put it down. Since then the people I know who have read the series have really enjoyed it so when i saw it at the library this week, I figured now was a good time to give it a go.

The Edith Wharton diss was unnecessary and kept the book from being perfect. :P However, it was close. So funny. So entertaining. So exciting. Love Atticus. Love Oberon - but don't forget to have your poodles spayed or neutered.
Definitely will be continuing with the series. ...more

Excellent start to a series. Two thousand year old Druid, Atticus, lives in Tempe, Arizona as a 21 year old bookshop owner. Lots of Celtic myths with gods, goddesses and legends. Oberon, the Irish wolfhound, is one of my favorite characters. Very glad I have the next two in the series to dive into. 4.5 stars!

I think it might have been the narrator that I didn't like so much. Unless he was doing the voice of another character he was very monotone. I liked the story though.
