What Members Thought
Never been a science fiction fan...but expected this to be different since it is so recommended. Well, I'm still not a fan. An "anti-Utopian" world as Huxley apparently referred to his concept, ok...but, to me, all the characters were one-dimensional with the exception of Linda and the "Savage"...and even those characters disappoint. As for all the symbolism...its laid on SOoooo thick and usually not even in a humorous way. Although, substituting "Ford" for "Lord" throughout was a nice touch. I

I didn't like this book as much as I could have. I really did not like Huxley's vision of our future. He tried to go to far forward. As a consequence, got most of it wrong.
The story itself was ok. It ended, as one could predict, like a Shakespearian tragedy. Personally, whilst a happy ending is not necessary, an element of hope, should be. ...more
