What Members Thought
I love Philip Pullman, but remember struggling to get into this trilogy. However, on the second read I really appreciated his skill and the layers of theology and philosophy that underpin a riveting story. My favourite element is the use of daemons to represent the soul - I wish I had one!
The only shame is that I sat through the horror of the film version in between my first and second reading - I could not get Nicole Kidman out of my head and she is totally wrong for that part!
