I couldn’t wait to read MOCKINGJAY to find out what happens to Katniss and the other characters I fell in love with. And after reading the conclusion to the Hunger Games I was left dumb-founded, saddened, and angry; angry at Collins mostly. While her writing is still quite beautiful and descriptive, she surprised me with some unpleasant twists of plot and characterization.

I was almost positive that I was going to end this book and be disappointed...and in a way, I guess I was. But really, I'm not sure that you are meant to be completely satisfied with the ending to this series...afterall, so many horrible things happened. But alas, I was crying through the last chapter...and I have to agree with Katniss when she talks about Gail...sometimes we don't need someone like ourselves, we need that certain someone who balances us out and helps us see through the nightmar

The third and final novel in the series has Katniss becoming the face of the rebellion against the Capitol. Not content with that, she becomes a soldier in what seems like the final 'Hunger Games', but this time her family and friends are all dealing with what both the Capitol/President Snow and the leader of the resistance are dishing out. This time, will anyone survive?

I kept hearing this one wasn't as good as the previous two but I disagree, I think it is different and the characters are different, but in a series you need growth. The only time I cried in this entire series was in this book, it was when Katniss and Buttercup made up at the end. I'm so glad they included the Epilogue, I would have been lost without it.
