I have read Alice in Wonderland many times, I own few different versions. From pop-up to chose your own adventure, to the actual book it's self. I just haven't read this particular copy, which I have owned since the mid to late 2000s.

I really loved Scarlett Johansson's reading of this story. She did an excellent job with the different voices. The story itself is honestly nonsensical. I have always loved Alice in Wonderland and never bothered to read the true story by Lewis Carroll. Now that I have I am a little torn. I love the nonsense in the story and at the same time, it didn't feel like a real story. Just a jumbling of weird things and thoughts.

Hard to believe it's taken me 50 years to get around to reading this classic children's tale. For some reason the story never really appealed to me. Now I wonder how I would have reacted to it as a child. As an adult, I recognize so many of the pieces of the story that each carries with it additional baggage from Grace Slick to someone shouting "Off with their heads!" I am unable to objectively say if this is a good book or not, because it is an iconic book to me, and will always be a good book to me.

Actually I didn't read the Kindle version, but I couldn't find plain Alice in Wonderland by itself.
