More like 2 stars , but I couldn't quite allow myself to give more than one star to a book that glorifies cutting.
I will start with the positive points of this book. I think this is the best paced novel in the series. I read this one in a twenty four hour span and I was eager to get back to it every time I had to take a break. Despite the plethora of problems I have with this series, the books have never failed to keep me reading. Even if I am only reading because I like the concept and literal ...more

After the way the first ended I figured book three was going to start in a weird way and although I was correct, I was not prepared for how this started.
Once again Scott Westerfeld had me on the edge of my seat. I was so curious how in the world Tally was going to get herself out of this particular predicament that I could not stop reading. I didn't want to, but I wouldn't have even if I had to. The narration was just as good as the first two, and the storyline was fabulous.

Oh boy...
Well the main reason I am reading this book is because I am OCD and hate when I start a series and don't finish it. "DNF" is probably one of the hardest things for me to do. That being said I really don't like much about this book I hate the speech in this book. I actually feel like I am getting dumber the longer I read this series. I get that they are "pretties" and that is why they are stupid but I had hope there wouldn't be as much of that in this installment of the series but there ...more

It was nice revisiting these characters but this book seemed a bit all over the place. I also found it a bit tired that Tally’s reduced to the boys she likes almost completely throughout the book. This book also felt like it used the “cutesy” terms for every group a lot more than the previous two, but maybe I’m misremembering. Every other sentence it felt like was about “littlelies” “bubble heads” “crumblies”, etc and it really interrupted the flow of the story.
