I'm not entirely convinced about this series. I like the premise and I like that fact that the lead female isn't some automatic heroine from the outset. She isn't particularly brave or commanding; she just wants to be pretty and instead ends up getting wrangled into a position she never wanted to be in only to discover being pretty might not be all it's made out to be. I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice change of pace, a cool idea for a coming of age story. A nice blend of futuristic and historic cultures.
Another great book by Scott Westerfeld. Great characters. Great story. Tally is a semi-average fifteen, almost sixteen, year old girl. She wants to be pretty just like most of the teenagers. But, right before her sixteenth birthday she meets a girl who could change everything. Can't really say more without ruining anything. Can't wait to finish reading Pretties
