Unfortunately there is trouble in paradise and Lord and Lady Maccon spend almost no time together in this book. Conall spends most of the time intoxicated and Alexia is off having an adventure and being constantly in danger.

It hardly matters to me what happens in these books because they're just so entertaining. I love the Victorian Britishness of them and how everything is so proper and everyone drinks so much tea and talks about hats.

These are enjoyable books that I always forget about when I'm not reading one. The humour is the main attraction, because there honestly isn't much of a storyline. This one had a very abrupt ending also. I assumed I was about 3/4 through the book and then suddenly it was just over. ...more

What I liked about Gail Carriger's previous books in the Parasole Protectorate Series - the stylish language, the workings of Victorian high society, the creative use of paranormal beings - is still on full display in the third book, "Blameless".

After the travel by dirigible in "Changeless", I was pleased to discover that the Steampunk ideas are even more present in this book. Whether it be transportation, weapon or simple scientific device, I loved reading about it and picturing it in my head.
