I loved the characters there are so many great ones in this series. One of my favorite characters was definitely Madame Lefoux she was so intelligent and funny. Another interesting part of the series is the descriptions of the gadgets and technology of their world. There was so much going on I really enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery and culprits motives. The ending was such a surprise to me I must find out what happens next.

Let me start with an advice. I read reviews about this book having an open end, and I had my best friend check it, and she said, yes, indeed, it was a terrible open ending. Here's the advice: Have "Blameless" ready - or simply ignore the last chapter entitled "Changes" and there won't be any open ending at all. Unresolved questions, yes. Open ending, no.

The only things I remembered from the first time I read this 5 years ago were the awesome trouser-wearing, French lady inventor who made the parasol...and Lord Asshole at the end of the book.
