I would give this a solid 3.5 stars. Since there is no half star option, I'm choosing to round up because I really did enjoy this book. I felt compelled to keep reading, even in the sluggish parts. The cons of this book are not so heavy that they constitute rounding down.

The story revolves around a financial journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, who is scheduled to do jail time for slander and the odd tattooed girl, Lisbeth Salander,
with whom he teams up to search for a missing woman. What makes it difficult is the woman has been missing for 40 years and there is a large family whose members don’t want to talk. This is hands down one of the best books I've ever read. It started off slow with all of the financial and country-based jargon, but once past the first few slow pages, I wasn't able to put this book down. Great writing and, though guessable, a really great plot. I switched between multiple theories throughout the mystery and never knew exactly what would happen. I'm very much looking forward to reading the rest of this trilogy, despite its dark and depressing tone. The story is something worth
