This definitely gets a 4.5 star rating. It's a unique combination of cozy mystery, romance, and magic. The book follows the usual style of a cozy mystery, with lots of character building and less focus on the mechanics of the murder. Our heroine, Ella Mae, is implicated in the murder and must try to clear her name. She is the owner of a brand new pie shop in her hometown in Georgia, where she returned after leaving her husband following his infidelity. Her pies are magical, seeming to be infused

This book took a bit to get into, I think somewhat because the heroine spent most of the book trying to figure herself out. I loved her family and her puppy, Chewie. The mystery was solved sooner than I expected. The pies sounds marvelous. But it took me a long time to finish as there was never anything pulling me back in. I do have to say I'm starting to get a bit tired of the "evil nemesis" plot point showing up in so many cozy mysteries nowadays.
