On Christmas Eve 1977 Cleveland Amory is recruited to help rescue a stray cat from an alley. Once the cat is successfully caught Amory takes the filthy bundle home for a few days. Amory quickly falls in love with what turns out to be a pure white cat whom he keeps and names Polar Bear. This book covers the first year that Amory has Polar Bear. This was an ok book. I got bored with it and just stopped reading it. It started out great with the story of how he got his cat. But then he went on for 23 pages about naming the cat, that is when I called it quits. I lost interest and since I promised myself that I wouldn't keep going when there was nothing that kept me interested, I stopped. Oh well at least I gave it a try.
