Wow, I thought this book was great. I really enjoyed reading it. Once I got started it was hard to put down. I thought the characters and plot were very well written. I was hooked from page one and when I got to the middle it was hard to put down. I always love reading books about bookstores or books and a little bit of mystery

I really enjoyed this book. I am reminded of elements from Harry Potter, but maybe not. This story is very modern day, but still carries many of the "old ways" of doing things, back before electronics were so much part of our everyday life.

I listened to this as an audio book. The story was interesting, but there were some things about it that bugged me. First, did Google give the author a grant to write the thing? Second, it had such a "dude" approach to writing a female character, who the author claims is the most interesting in the book. I disagree -- the only really interesting character was Penumbra. This was a fun little mystery. The characters were likeable and I loved the atmosphere the author created. I thought this read more like YA fiction than adult, given the resolution to the mystery and the ending in general, but I enjoyed reading it and think it would make a nice summer read for those who haven't read it yet.
