This book was pretty good for the start, but I felt like it went progressively down-hill. As we neared the end of the book, it seemed that coincidences were becoming the norm, not, well, coincidences. Each time something good was about to happen, it seemed a bad thing would stop it. And not just any bad thing, but the only bad thing that would actually prevent said good thing. Even such coincidences as getting a split lip so that he had the same scar as his boyhood friend appeared in this book,

I finished this last night and I am still trying to understand my thought process on this book. In some ways I deeply felt the story but in other ways I just could not get the feelings that so many other people have had while reading the book.
I think what made me dislike this book so much is my hatred towards Amir, I despised him and I felt sort of betrayed that the author seemed to expect sympathy for this god-awful man. Truly I despised the man. I didn't hate the book, but in no way shape of ...more
