The story of Nanny who goes to work for the X family and take care of their 4 year old son Grayer while she's in her senior year at NYU. The writing itself was fine if unexciting. My problem with the book is that I thought it would be amusing. Instead it made me angry. The X family and their friends are all so self centered and totally ignore their children. Nanny is a wimp, too afraid to stand up for herself. Grayer is the only one I connected with. I've met too many kids in the last six months

An entertaining and heartbreaking look into another social world, a good book that I had a hard time putting down. I found the relationship between Nanny and Grayer touching. It's always funny, often touching, and surely a must read for anyone who enjoys taking care of children.

What a waste of time. The writing is only so-so. The characters are gross exaggerations/sterotypes. I read it when it was all the rage, but I didn't like it and don't recommend it.
