Overall the series kept my attention, barely. Loved the characters, Christen and Ana, but had to remind myself how young the both were as the story played out. If ELJ would have written tighter, more sophisticated dialog maybe Christen and Ana wouldn't have come off so whiny. Still, I was invested till the end of book three. It's clear to me that ELJ could have made this a duet (not a trilogy) and eased off of some of the angst and lip biting. It would have have helped keep the story darker and ...more

Wow, better than I was expecting. After not being too impressed by the second book and the horrid writing of the first, I suppose I lowered my expectations and was pleasantly surprised by this one. Not only had the writing itself gotten better but also the story seemed to have more soul to it. Now I wish there was more to come. Will definitely need to find a replacement.

Loved this trilogy and really made it so that all I wanted to read was Smut that was similar, really had me intrigued and shows that there can be a balance of what people want sexually and emotionally.
