I can see why so many people either love or hate this book. I started out hating it, I almost didn't finish it but I am so glad I did. Christian Grey was an asshole and I would never deal with any of that crap in real life. I passionately hated him. I still think he is an ass but I can see the draw of the story for many women. I did not care for this book. The main male character, for whom the book is titled, takes the innocense of a young lady, with her consent. Her first sexual encounter is that of S & M. He's an over-protective millionaire and basically stalks her.

Love, love, love this book! I've read this book several times and I still love it. What a beautiful love story between broken, controlling Christian Grey and naïve, innocent but strong Ana Steele. I love her "inner goddess," her sarcasm and wit, and Christian's broodiness and playfulness. Oh, and the sex scenes are hot!

Really loved these books, reading these made me want to makes some changes in my life, so I guess you could say they were a bit inspiring to me... This introduced me to the Smut I now seem to not be able to stay away from.
So-so. Much like an adult version of twilight. There seemed to be too much whining between the characters for my tastes. I probably won't read the rest of the trilogy.

As far as smut is concerned it actually wasn't too bad. A very quick read but interesting. Ana`s "inner voices" were highly amusing :-)
