I had been putting this book off for years, and now I wonder why. Bryson writes in an easy-to-read (or listen to) way, including plenty of fascinating facts (that I never would have thought to ask) and with a dry wit. Having never been to Australia, I had no idea what to expect, thinking there wouldn't be a lot to write about besides koalas and kangaroos. Boy, was I wrong. As always, Bill Bryson delivers a fascinating view of his travels, this time through Australia. This was my second read, something I very rarely do, and it was even more enjoyable than the first time. Bryson fills his story with rich history and curiosities and even some political discourse.
