This was a charming and heartwarming tale when you are talking about Guernsey and its inhabitants. The story is obviously dark in some areas, as it is set in WWII during the Nazi occupation. However, I absolutely loved this book. Not sure it can break into my top ten but it is a story that will stay with me and I know I will read again, very rare for me.

I found this book as part of the 2016 Reading Challenge, #13, a book loved/recommended by your favorite author. Well, I'm not sure I could pick a favorite author, so I just happened to look up one of my most read & see that she had only rated 8 books on Goodreads...I clicked on her 5* and then saw several other authors I enjoy had also rated it a 5* read.
Thus I came across & read a book I probably would not have otherwise, and what a delight it was!

This was entirely one of the sweetest, nicest books I have ever read. The story concerns Juliet, a woman in her early 30's who lived in London during WWII and wrote a newspaper column about a fictional woman living in London during the Blitz. The columns are turned into a book and she goes on a trip around the country in promotion of her book.
