A Fatal Thaw, gets you in right from page one. The reader becomes a witness to the murders from the killer's point of view, seeing as the victims are killed all in a gory sequence, until his capture by Kate and Mutt, (her half wolf) and it all happens by the end of chapter one. All neatly wrapped up, right? Not by a long shot. Then comes the twist. The twist that gets you really sucked in. ...more

I wasn't really keen on the first book of the series, but this one was better. I'm not sure if that is because my expectations were low, or because (view spoiler) I'm not still sure about the human characters of this series, but I do like Mutt.
