This story got off to a slow start for me. I was having a hard time getting into it, and feeling guilty since it is Pride and Prejudice one of the beloved books of many. I watched the first episode of the BBC series with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy to see if that would help after I had read the first twelve chapters. It did, I was able to get a better grasp for the storyline and see some of the humor I was missing in my reading.

I can't believe I put off reading this for so long.

It took me quite some time to get through this book. Not because I found it hard to get into but because I couldn't focus on this book when I had other distractions around, and I always seem to have other distractions around. Once I switched to the audio book (reader is amazing), it allowed me to focus all of my attention ...more

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife...
...and so begins the masterpiece that continues to amuse and delight! Love, scandal, outrage and uncommonly silly sisters are all mixed up into a classic book I've finally read all the way through!
