A book that I thought that I should start reading some clasical litrature. I recommend anyone who wants to get into this book watch an adaptation first, particularly the famous BBC miniseries with Colin Firth. Then read this, and be patient, and keep that adaptation in mind.
Because Austen's a great satirist, she pretty much originated the romantic comedy, and her female characters aren't just remarkable for their time, they're remarkable period. It was difficult for me to rate this book. Because it is such a well loved classic, I felt that perhaps it should automatically be awarded 5 stars. I have always loved this story & am glad that I can finally claim having read it instead of just seeing it played out on film.
