Ruth Galloway is a forensic archaeologist who teaches at a Norfolk university. She lives in a remote area across from a salt marsh. DCI Nelson asks Ruth for help identifying bones found in the marsh that he believes might be those of a girl who was kidnapped ten years ago. A second girl also recently was kidnapped and Nelson is receiving letters similar to those he got with the first kidnapping. he asks Ruth's help with the letters too because they include archaeological information. 2023: I've decided this is the year to re-read this series before the new volume comes out. Because the stories are all so good, plus the history & archeology & final suspenseful chapters are bonus elements.
2019: Elly Griffiths is now officially one of my favorite authors. I adore her Magic Men series and loved her stand-alone novel, "The Stranger Diaries". I've had several volumes of this Ruth Galloway series on my kindle & in print and hadn't gotten to them yet, so I am entranced. I wanted to

I think I like this series because I relate to the main character, rather too well actually. Ruth Galloway is an overweight single woman with cats - late thirties while I'm late forties. Zeer goed boek. Personen worden goed weergegeven en je leert ze ook echt goed kennen. Het is eens een iets andere thriller en je leert ook wat meer over archeologie. De plaatsen worden goed omschreven en het lijkt net of je ook tevens een film zit te kijken. Aanrader!
