Just the thought of Tolstoy and an 800+ page book has put me off approaching this book for awhile. It shouldn't have though-I found this lengthy classic quite easy to read and enjoy (unlike the few Dickens that I've read). There were still the tangents into political or religious philosophy but overall this is a love story- the destructive love between Anna Karenina and Vronsky and the pure love between Kitty and Levin.
