The second time I've read it, and this time it was a five-star read. Last time I thought it was decent, but it was a lot of years ago - maybe far enough back that I didn't really understand what was going on. The writing is lovely, and the story is, of course, terrifying yet has that feeling of being very set in reality. So this book has been on my TBR list since 2012 and I finally decided to try it. It honestly wasn’t my cup of tea. I liked the whole dystopian feel but I wanted it to amount to something like the narrator getting pregnant or something. I’m not really sure what I wanted to happen but just something. I want to know what happened to her husband and daughter. How did it get to the extreme that it did?
