I found this book interesting, as I am fascinated by Japan and its culture. But I trusted the author to be truthful to the story of the Geisha he talked to and who told him her story, and after hearing he took quite some liberties with that story, probably to fit some western idea regarding Geishas, and the consequences this had for the woman who's story he was supposedly narrating, that's one book and one author that has landed on the black list. Enchanting.
Memoirs of a Geisha, is truly one of the most enchanting and engaging stories that I have ever read. I found it to be forthright and frank in its descriptions of the life, times, culture and the glamour and grit, the turmoil and tranquillity of the people and places of Goin, Kyoto.
I found it to be an emotional and poetic journey, that had me enthralled from the first page to the last.

I'm in love with this story. It had me absorbed from page 1. I couldn't bare to finish the end because it had me so upset but it was just beautiful. I seriously can't describe how I felt reading this.
