What Members Thought

Great storytelling! I kept thinking this was a true story translated into English, that’s how well the author wrote it.
Two important points:
-I am jealous of the lovely kimonos the author depicted. Want my own collection now.
-The only thing the novel was missing was more sushi eating.
The ending made me wonder what Sayuri’s life would have been like if she had made more honorable choices and less selfish ones. I guess that’s the question we all as human beings will eventually have to answer.

Enchanting.
Memoirs of a Geisha, is truly one of the most enchanting and engaging stories that I have ever read. I found it to be forthright and frank in its descriptions of the life, times, culture and the glamour and grit, the turmoil and tranquillity of the people and places of Goin, Kyoto.
I found it to be an emotional and poetic journey, that had me enthralled from the first page to the last.
