This book started off slow and I wasn't sure I was going to like it but a few chapters in I was hooked. I was eager to find out if the dead woman had gotten that way by murder or accident and who could have done it. I liked the main character Clare but Madame is going to get annoying really fast if she keeps trying to get Clare back with her son. I really am hoping that Quinn isn't married or that he gets a divorce or something if he is. I think he would be a great match for Clare. We don't know

I have just re-read this one and upped my rating from a 3 to 4 stars. I enjoyed the story and the characters. My only frustration with the book is the minute details about coffee making. Yes, I get that it is a coffee-based series but does Clare really need to give us the step-by-step process of making a good cup of coffee every time that she makes a cup? She makes coffee frequently in the book and gives the details each time, even when the same details were given just a few short pages before.

Not my cup of coffee. Clare Cosi runs a coffe house in New York, and one of her employees is found dead. When the cops don't seem interested in investigating it as a crime, Clare takes it upon herself to do it. She unofficially teams up with a police detective, who admires her deduction skills. She's also fending off advances from her ex-husband. This book was pretty ridiculous. When the story started I wasn't to excited about it. It was starting out more hard core than a cozy mystery would be and then getting into the coffee talk. I'm not a coffee fan and I found it to be Too Much! As it got going though, I started to get into it and by the end, I'm interested in reading the next in the series.
